Métis Infinity Flag.
Flags of the Métis Nation
These flags come from the fur trade. The red flag represents the colours of the Hudson's Bay Company, while the blue represents the North West Company. The horizontal figure eight is an infinity sign, which has two meanings, the joining of two cultures and existence of a people forever. The infinity symbol has also emerged in the traditional dances of the Métis. Both are equal as a representation of the Métis people.
